Random thoughts from an Island in the middle of the Irish Sea

I enjoy life, and find that the older I get the more adventurous I become - just sometimes there are limitations as to what I should attempt. The brittle bone syndrome could start settling in soon.

swans and football

After endless hours of rain and wind here (and lovely soft snow across) we have finally settled down to the odd bit of sunshine.
Driving to work on Tuesday I nearly ended up in a ditch outside the high school in Peel. (not again) What once used to be the football pitch was now a beautiful lake, framed by two white goalposts. Swimming around as though the 'lake' had been there forever were to swans. One could imagine half of the Peel population of ducks uprooting themselves and going on the great trek to the new pastures green. As long as the flamingos don't hear on the bush telegraph of this phenomenon. It won't be like the Etosha Pan and last for months - just a two day wonder.
