cold water, hot water

The snow has gone, melted over night and left me with a wonderful frost and no running water - first time I have never experienced frozen water pipes - just hope they don't burst !!
Sat last night with someone who has little time left and it broke my heart to see how she has deteriorated in the past week. She is a shell of the spirited woman she used to be, and it left me with another sleepless night. Sometimes I think it is better to go out with a bang than this long, lingering and painful end to life.
Her son came over for the night from the UK and sat with her,all day, and when I entered the room the was a sense of peace in the room and it was wonderful to see the gentle way in which he handled her. It is so easy to avoid dealing with death, and he is facing it with such strength. I know how hard it is because both times when I went through it I gave as much time as I had to being with both my mum and dad, and even that was not enough because I still miss them so much
